# Be a smart and sensible adult. (You are not a Kid)
As a professional worker, you may be supposed to do many chores and duties both in your professional and personal life. Naturally, we are all addicted to pleasant experiences. We tend to avoid uncomfortable tasks and responsibilities.
But being a smart and sensible adult, you have to deal with all types of challenges and have to find a way to make yourself calm, relaxed, and motivated. Don’t be impatient at the beginning. It takes time to get used to studying, stay patient, and do as much as you can. Be a wise, sensible adult.
# Remind yourself why you started
In today’s era of distraction, It’s easy to get disconnected from your Why, so ask yourself why you started in the first place and why you are doing it. You have been studying with a full-time job. This means there must be a compelling Why (Reason).
Let’s say you are working on-site hustle for that you need to study, remind yourself why you are hare doing this,
Take a minute to remind yourself what benefits you will get If you keep studying along with your job versus not studying after work.
What is the long-term goal this will help you achieve?
You just need to remind yourself of that reason, why you have started at first. Many Professional workers study, along with a full-time job, to grow intellectually and financially. Just remind yourself that strong reason you started doing the Study with a 9 to 5 job.
Reminding yourself why you have started is the most effective form of motivation.
# Visualize your long term goal
As discussed above, Ones you found why you started, now make a clear vision and a road map that where you want to go and how you will reach there,
Visualize your long-term goal and take the required actions and guidance to reach there.
For example, You want to complete some certification to get promoted or hike in salary, take the course accordingly.
Visualizing your long-term goal will help you think, motivate, and allow you to take the required action.
# Study 60 minutes for the next 30 days
Many of us set an unachievable goal like studying 5 to 6 hours a day, and when they fail to manage 6 hours to study, they feel demotivated and frustrated.
For a student, it is easy to manage ten or even more hours for doing the Study. Because they have mainly one work that is Study. But a professional worker has to do lots of work along with a 9 to 5 job. He also needs proper sleep, time for relaxing and enjoying. You do not need to pressurize yourself.
“Don’t use your energy to worry. Use your energy to believe, create, trust, grow and heal”
You need to form a habit to stay consistent on your passion project and goal. and what could be better to start studying 60 minutes for 30 days,
If you study 60 minutes on your passionate project daily with complete dedication and focus,
1st it will form a habit to be consistent, and 2nd you will improve slowly and gradually.
So if you are feeling unmotivated to study, start with little and put your 60 minutes for the next 30 days. To see the improvement.
# Do some exercise
There is a simple solution for many problems, and that is Exercise,
Invest some time in Exercise. Find the physical activity you enjoy doing, like going to the gym, jogging or playing sports, or doing yoga for some time.
I enjoy walking, and connecting with like-minded people helps me to stay motivated to study.
Find Your most enjoyable physical activity and do it every day. Once you start doing Exercise, you will feel more energetic, which will help you stay motivated to study even after work.
# Reward yourself (after completing a task).
We professional workers, though enjoy well with friends in the office and on the way, but when it comes to doing extra work like doing the study, it becomes challenging.
Naturally, we are addicted to pleasant experiences, like doing things that give us pleasure and happiness. We sometimes lay down, and sometimes we watch videos or hang out with friends after returning from work.
I am not telling you to stop the good things which give you pleasant experiences.
But instead, use those pleasant to reward yourself.
Let’s say you enjoy watching videos on amazon prime after returning from work. Just tell yourself, if I study for 2 hours today with full concentration, then I will watch amazon prime or TV for 1 hour depending on how much free time you have.
I sometimes reward myself a whole day, usually Sunday, after completing studying honestly and dedicatedly throughout the week.
# Study before work
If you feel unmotivated and not getting time to study, try studying in the morning for at least 1 hour or 2. Even if you study 30 minutes before going to work, you will always be ahead of the day, and believe me. It will give little motivation to study during the day and after work too.
Honestly, saying I don’t like getting up early in the morning, I usually study after work between 8 to 10. but I find getting up early is highly beneficial some days of the week, usually Thursday to Saturday I study in the morning before work.
Studying before work is difficult, but it feels so good once you start learning before work and gives you motivation.
# Remind yourself that this won’t go on forever
Many employees don’t start studying because they think they have to study forever.
I assume you have some specific goal or target ones you clear that you won’t need to take that much hectic,
It is temporary until you achieve your goal; along the way, the thing will become easy.
# Focus on the process, not the result
The big reason behind the de-motivation does not see the quick result,
Let’s understand with an example when an employee tries to learn spoken English after some week of making the consistent effort he checks and not found huge outcome that he expected, so he began feeling unmotivated and leave the English learning in between,
You don’t need to do that whenever you feel demotivated. Focus on the process.
Don’t forget you are ahead and improving day by day.
# Don’t expect to feel motivated all the time.
Nobody can be productive and motivated all the time, even your mentor.
Then how can you expect to feel motivated all the time? There may be some nights you won’t feel productive and may lack motivation too. That’s OK.
You don’t need to force yourself to study harder when you lack motivation,
Instead, form a study habit by studying 30 minutes or 1 hour,
I don’t think studying for 30 minutes will require motivation anymore.
Conclusion.
Studying while doing full-time 9to5 Job might seem easy on the surface. But in reality, it is stressful,
not to worry, many people did achieve success while managing both Job and Study at the same time.
It is totally appreciated that you think to study while working a full-time.
